About Me
I attended Kent State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 1991, followed by a Masters of Education degree in Developmentally Handicapped in 1993. Throughout the years, I took additional classwork in Applied Behavior Analysis and in 2021 I completed the certificate program from the Dyslexia Training Institute in San Diego to become a Certified Dyslexia Tutor.
For the past 27 years, I have worked in the schools as an Intervention Specialist for children from preschool through 7th grade.
Experienced with systematic, structured reading instruction using the Wilson Reading Program and Orton-Gillingham approach to reach struggling readers at their level to build confidence and consistency before advancing to the next level of instruction.
Early childhood is the ideal time to identify dyslexia and begin reading intervention, yet it’s never too late to learn !
I can assist ALL struggling readers, either with or without an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
